ENERGY SECTOR Reducing Renewable Energy Losses Inaccurate demand forecasts and variability in renewable energy (RES) production led to significant energy losses, difficulties in meeting end-consumer demand, and instability in the system’s energy balance. The organization required a solution that would allow for better prediction of changes and faster response to operational conditions. Context Energy management in RES systems requires constant adjustment of production to actual demand. Variability resulting from weather conditions and instability in energy production led to significant losses of generated energy and problems in balancing end-consumer demand. Operational Challenge The primary challenge was short-term forecasting of RES energy production. Production instability from renewable energy sources (e.g., wind, solar) led to overproduction or energy shortages. As a result, the company was unable to accurately estimate end-consumer demand, which led to energy losses and inefficiency in production and distribution management. Solution We conducted a data audit to assess its quality, completeness, and suitability for building forecasting models. Subsequently, an AI-based analytical system was implemented, integrating data on energy production, demand, and external factors. The system forecasted energy demand in real-time and optimized energy distribution to minimize losses and improve management efficiency. Thanks to the system’s integration with existing infrastructure, it was possible to better match production to end-consumer needs. Effective Balancing effective real-time balancing of end-consumer electricity demand Prediction Accuracy of 90% high prediction accuracy of 90%, which directly translated into better control, optimization of energy production, and distribution Reduced Energy Losses improved control process management and reduced energy losses A conversation is the first step to identifying the organization’s needs and assessing the project’s feasibility.
